Local fees

We love dogs as much as you do, this is why we have prepared waste bins with bags for you, and these are paid from part of your fees. You can also make payments for recreational stays, admission, use of public space and other fees with us.

Dog fee

Who pays the fee?

The fee is paid by the dog keeper according to the place of permanent residence or registered office, not its owner. Therefore, the fee is paid by the dog’s carer, who also has a permanent residence or declaration of residence in the Czech Republic.
The fees apply to dogs older than three months. You must register them in person within 15 days of acquisition.

How do I register?

The registration for the local dog fee is made by the dog keeper with a permanent residence in Prague 3 or with the declaration of residence in Prague 3 in person at the Local Fees Department, regardless of where they are physically present with the dog. You can use the form in preparation for completing the registration.

You will present your identity card or passport and it is recommended to have a dog vaccination card. The dog keeper’s representative submits an unverified power of attorney. If you request a local fee relief, you will prove your claim, for example, by a confirmation of taking over the dog from the shelter, a pension assessment, a ZTP (severe health disability) or ZTP/P (severe health disability requiring special care) card.

After submitting the completed form, the fee obligation date and the fee rate amount are determined. You will receive a variable symbol for payment and a registration mark for the dog.

Everyone who becomes a breeder of a dog bred in the territory of the capital city of Prague and marked according to the Veterinary Act is obliged to register within 30 days with the breeder register using the breeder registration card, which you can download here and send completed by post or e-mail to posta@praha.eu or via data box 48ia97h.

You will report the end of dog breeding in the territory of the capital city of Prague or its death within 30 days at the latest. You can find more information on the Prague City Hall website.
