Parking permits

Do I need a parking permit?

Yes; the parking permit allows Prague 3 inhabitants (residents), companies and traders who conduct their business here (subscribers) to park in the Paid Parking Zone (PPZ) indefinitely for a flat fee.

3icon-upozorneni1-redIssuing a parking permit does not entitle you to a parking space.

What is a Paid Parking Zone?

In the Prague 3 District there are two types of Paid Parking Zone (PPZ) – blue and purple (mixed) zone. The PPZ administrator is the Technical Road Administration (TRA), the founder is the capital city of Prague.

Operating hours

  • The operating hours for the entire Paid Parking Zone in Prague 3 are from Sunday 5 p.m. to Friday 5 p.m. Parking in the zone is free of charge outside the operating hours and from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Blue zone

  • Only people with a valid parking permit can park in the blue zone, reserved for residents and subscribers, without restrictions. Visitors can also use it, but for a maximum of 3 hours, after payment via the Virtual Parking Meter application. There are no parking meters in the blue zone.

Purple zone

  • The purple zone is designed for the so-called mixed parking. People with a valid parking permit park in the purple zone without restrictions. Visitors can park here for a maximum of 24 hours, after payment in a parking meter or via the Virtual Parking Meter application.

Parking meters

  • The parking meter provides information on the parking price and how to enter a parking session. The parking meter ticket contains information regarding the zone, payment date, validity period, parking session code, registration number and the price for parking the car. The ticket only serves as proof of payment and it is not necessary to place it in the car.

Virtual Parking Meter (VPM)

  • The Virtual Parking Meter application allows you to make payments for short-term visitor parking in the blue zone for up to three hours without using a parking meter. VPM is the only payment option for drivers who need to stop in the blue zone for a short visit, business meeting, unloading or loading.

How do I get a parking permit?

You can arrange a new parking permit or extend an existing one:

  • in person at the District Office, you can use the reservation system to visit

  • electronically via personal pages where you register either via the customer line for the Technical Road Administration +420 388 901 185 (Mon – Fri 9 a.m.–11 a.m. and 12 p.m.–3 p.m.) or in person at the parking permit issuing office.

At present, the simple and secure creation and login to the client zone account of the ‘Personal User Page’ (PUP) through e-identity is fully supported for the Paid Parking Zone (PPZ) clients. This is a remote proof of identity when using online services with the so-called identification means. These means are optional and are issued by a qualified administrator.

The time required to process your payment is 5 working days from the date that the payment order is entered. The parking permit is issued at the earliest on the day of crediting (processing) the payment.

It is possible to verify the payment’s processing or the issuance of the parking permit via the user’s Personal Portal (osu.zpspraha.cz).

Internet applications are processed during the Office’s business hours.
